My boyfriend and I drove over 6 hours to check out this town as a prospect for moving to and researched ahead of time, who had the best Italian beef sandwich in town. Quatro's was the overwhelming answer, so we decided to give it a try. Since we came from the South where Italian beef sandwiches are pretty much impossible to find, we had some pretty high expectations. The only real experience I have had in the past was a sandwich from a trip to Chicago a few years ago and could not have expected anything even close to that. Quatro's blew that experience out of the water. When we arrived, it was a much easier experience than a few other places in town. We simply grabbed a booth and, within a couple of minutes, had menus and our drinks to the table. The server was extremely friendly and helpful in helping us select the best options for each of us. (We both added provolone cheese, and he chose hot giardinieria while I chose mild.) The food was PHENOMENAL! We ate every single bite. I think it may have been the best sandwich I have had in a very long time. It was so good that we decided to take a pizza back to the hotel for later. (The Quatro with a side order of their amazing pepperoncini.) It was just a yummy as the sandwiches, even cold. I am sure to the locals this may be just another local pizza place, but if you are visiting the area and want to find THE place to experience a great sandwich with a smile then this is the place to go. Thank you for making our trip here just a little bit more special.

Delicious and great flavors. Worth the wait in the parking lot. I waited an hour before a ate a slice. Very good I imagine sitting down to eat would be even better
Absolutely lives up to the hype! We were nearby bow hunting and heard about this place. It was worth the 45 minute drive and more. The deep dish pizza was divine and the appetizer bread was crunchy and flaky with yummy marinara to dip it in. Our server was solicitous and helpful and we had a flawless experience.
We stopped in at Quatro's after hearing so many people sing their praises! We are from KY and made about an hour drive to give it a try. On a Sunday night at 5pm, the place is pretty much full. We lucked out and snagged a seat as soon as we walked in and didn't have to wait. It took several minutes for someone to get our drink order, but she brought them back immediately. Finally after several more minutes, our actual waitress took our order. For how busy it was, I don't think it took long to get our food. We got a deep dish pizza called, Meateater Bonanza. It was definitely worth the drive. I would say we will be back to try other specialty pizzas like the Buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken bacon ranch.
The cheese garlic bread was delightful, offering a perfect balance of cheesy goodness and robust garlic flavor. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a generous layer of melted cheese that stretched with every bite. The garlic was pronounced but not overwhelming, making it a perfect appetizer or side dish. It was seasoned well, and the slight sprinkle of herbs added a fresh touch. The deep dish pizza was an indulgent experience, showcasing layers of rich, hearty ingredients. The crust was thick yet perfectly cooked, providing a satisfying crunch with a soft, doughy interior. The tomato sauce was robust and flavorful, with just the right amount of tanginess to complement the generous cheese layer. Each bite was packed with toppings, from savory meats to fresh vegetables, making it a filling and satisfying meal. The cheese was wonderfully melted and stringy, creating that classic deep-dish feel. This pizza is a must-try for anyone looking for a hearty and delicious dining experience.
Absolutely delicious. Same recipe for 50 years!!!! A must try for any pizza lover.
Best deep pan pizza in southern Illinois. I grew up in Carbondale and this was one of my family's favorite places to eat. It was wonderful to be back this week and the pizza was, as always, delicious. Oddly, the broccoli on my salad was frozen but that's a one off so I'm still giving 5 stars!
I have had traditional Chicago Deep Dish, and while this isn't like it, it is still really good. I got a Philly Cheesteak Pizza, and oddly enough it didn't have any sauce, which I was honestly appreciative of, as sometimes pizza sauce is too much for me. The staff did an excellent job, and the atmosphere and design of the shop was really interesting.
